Fusion Splicing is the method to join two optical Fiber Cables (Ofc) by heating them. Fusion Splicer is an instrument used to achieve the same task. Fusion Slicer is available in two types conveyable and Fixed. conveyable model is beloved because it can be carried anywhere, where there is need to join Ofcs.
Fusion Splicing needs to be very accurate and precise. If there is any error in splicing, light will scatter or reflect and data loss occurs. Two Ofcs are related end to end and fused to join. Fusion Slicer uses a source of heat such as Tungsten Filament, Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation (Laser) Beam, Gas Flame or an galvanic arc.

Today, Fusion Slicers regularly use Laser or galvanic Arc. Gas Flame can leave traces of fuel or combustion bi-products, which may alter blend of Ofc. Laser and galvanic Arc are clean sources of heat. Laser slicer is beloved because it can operate on Battery and fast slice Ofcs. Slicers can be programmed to fast slicer similar type of Ofcs. conveyable models regularly use Laser as heat source. They fast heat and splice Ofcs in no time.
